Does anyone have or know where I can find data for Industry Standard
Defect / Rework costs for specific or non-specific defects. Example:
Bridging defect cost-per in THT/SMT, Lifted component cost-per in
SMT/THT etc....
I did a couple of internal studies for two different large corporations a few
years ago. In both cases the numbers came out to be fairly close for the two
companies. The cost for finding, identifying, documenting and repairing each
solder defect ranged from 89 cents to $1.05, depending on defect type. This
did not include the cost of a component if it needed to be replaced. For
simplification of the process, we just used $1.00 per defect for our cost models.
