I would like a copy of this fishbone, as well. Thanks.

Ingemar,

Perhaps I did not turn the right stone in TN, IPC, etc. I had not
since this diagram before. That is why the members of this forum is so
useful and sharing. Sharing is one of the methods to keep Lesson
Learned alive.

Victor,

Refer to what Ted Gaines said below, such magic wands...if I had them I
would sell them for a fortune each...no, Blair, the fishbone is more
like what the shaman used to do...you know what I mean...with some good
background, you'll hit quite well with them bones, and the tribe will
fall down and honour you.

I'm surprised about this fishbone popularity, thought TN, IPC, etc had
them...

Does it have the solutions to the problems too?

1st:May I point out that the fishbone diagram is not my creation.
2nd: As so many want it (surprise! Do professionals like you need such
crib?), maybe Steve can put a copy on his homestead. Watt do u zink,
Steve?

Ingemar

PS. fishbones are excellent for teaching the mysteries of SMT, you get a
knowledge platform, but they don't automatically guide you to the root
of a specific Murphy day problem.

Kristopher,

My experience in this matter is that PCB manufacturing companies have
not had one common defect that can be detailed as a persistent problem
unless they have a process issue and then the defect should be able to
be traced to a date code). Usually there is a myriad of issue's that the
public never knows about. As with all manufacturing there are issue's
that come up and make it ultimately to the end customer. So to pinpoint
one common problem would be difficult.

Hi Kristopher

All our customers tell us they have zero defects and no failures.

We call this "Telling Porky Pies".

I did a net search on your question and came up with one that might be
useful: http://www.allaboutcircuits.com/vol_5/chpt_8/5.html
