You may wish to investigate supplier yields on thin vs thicker films. It is
more difficult to handle the thinner films during manufacture, as you have to
maintain exactly balanced tension on the film, else you will get 'bedsheeting'.
(Next time you make the bed, pull harder on diagonally opposite corners of
the sheet- you will see the problem. That is why dry film solder masks tend to
be 3-4 mils thick, even if it lifts components off the pads.)
