Yes - the trend is toward .002" resist for external/plated layers. The
main reason is to keep the plating within the channel and provide better
stripping and etching for the sub-.005" lines/spaces. We have converted
all the .002" resist for external layers and are actually looking at a
.0025". This is a typical trend in the industry and you will find
better results for fine line processing. The main issues is keeping the
cost level with the .0015" - which should be do-able with most suppliers
depending on you relationship.

Subject: [TN] Dry Film

Good Friday to all. We've used 1.5mil dry film for quite a while but now
our supplier tells us EVERYONE has switched to 2.0mil. If we choose to
continue with the 1.5 we need to place our order 3-4 weeks in advance.
Am I just behind the curve here or is it time to shop for better
service? Thanks.
