Join us October 24-28, 2004 at the Minneapolis Convention Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota for an educational event with activities and resources for PCB designers. Get what information you need to succeed in our industry. Take a look at some of the highlights along with some of the design-specific happenings. More details on all of these events is available at www.ipc.org/IPCWorks2004 <http://outlook.ipc.org/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=http://www.ipc.org/IPCWorks2004> .

TECHNICAL CONFERENCE - OCTOBER 28 <http://outlook.ipc.org/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=http://www.ipc.org/contentpage.asp?Pageid=5.4.4>

§ PCB DESIGN

High speed circuits, embedded passives, BGAs, optical materials in organic substrates and RF design parameters are just a few of the issues covered at this year's technical conference. Today's designer must not only be familiar with basic design skills and CAD tools, but also industry standards and how they are applied to global manufacturers in the creation of electronic assembly products. As performance requirements increase, it becomes more and more important for designers to create the right design the first time. Learn how at IPCWorks 2004.

§ FLEX and CHIPS

§ PACKING AND STORAGE

Emerging Critical Interconnect Technology (ECIT) Embedded Passive Project at NSWC - Crane

Participants will find out about this critical project which is expected to consist of a variety of phases: software design tool development, resistive material process demonstration, capacitive material process demonstration, product reliability evaluation, commercial supplier introductions, and military product integration.

DESIGNER CERTIFICATION- OCTOBER 29-31 <http://outlook.ipc.org/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=http://dc.ipc.org/education/eduhome.htm>

If you're a designer, you can earn your IPC Designers Certification, basic or advanced at IPCWorks. In a business climate where work projects grow in complexity and responsibilities are constantly expanding, designers' certification stands as a clear testimony to a designer's qualifications, knowledge, and skills. Printed circuit board designers deserve the benefits and recognition of certification.

Both the IPC basic and advanced designer certification courses provide an in-depth view of design principles and are then followed by a challenging certification examination. The courses are recommended for designers with at least some experience designing PCBs and a good understanding of electronics and manufacturing issues. Take this opportunity to achieve designer certification while at IPCWorks 2004.
