Cal, we have been ordering offshore boards for nearly two years and have
experienced it all I think.  I have found the best way is to deal with a
local Printed wiring board shop and make them totally responsible for the
end item results.  I have also made the supplier sign a contract that states
their local shop will provide quick turn if the delivery from oversea is
discrepant.

Hi all-

Purchasing has decided they would like to entertain off shore (Asia) quotes
for bare boards and compare them with our domestic prices. It is obvious to
me that the cheaper of the two is the direction they will proceed.

Aside from raw cost of the board alone....what other variables need to be
considered (i.e. import cost, tax, etc...).

Any experiences or input you may have would be great.
