Jeffrey made excellent suggestions. I would add one additional thing. In the
beginning it will appear they are building the PWB your way, but the true
cost savings will only be realized by allowing them to build the PWB their
way.

Rejects, communications, design issues, acceptability criteria, time to
replace parts, etc. Make sure you visit the company and cultivate a
relationship with someone fitting your needs. If you use a broker you
will have issues and variations in board performance. Seek out (takes
sometime) and stick to one good supplier - get a good customs agent.

Hi all-
Purchasing has decided they would like to entertain off shore (Asia)
quotes for bare boards and compare them with our domestic prices. It is
obvious to me that the cheaper of the two is the direction they will
proceed.
Aside from raw cost of the board alone....what other variables need to
be considered (i.e. import cost, tax, etc...).
Any experiences or input you may have would be great.
