Hi

Well again this depends.

<Wouldn't that be a story:
<
"A team of Antarctic researchers investigating effects of electronics
manufacturing on the ozone layer were stranded today when their GPS system
malfunctioned. The malfunction is thought to be associated with the removal
of lead from the solder"..................8-)>>>

According to what I understand this might happen to long duration (2 years)
Artic Investigators rather than explorers that would use other devices out
in the weather that may not be so closely associated with them. I imagine
that their precious, "my precious" GPS's would be kept a bit warmer.

Yours in Engineering, Dave
