Here is a Question.
If you had ~$800.00 to spend on training, how would you spend it?
 - Take the CID or CID+ exam
 - Attend PCB West, PCB East, similar trade show or Users Group Meeting
 - Take a software programming class
 - Tell you boss you are taking a class but go on a three day boondoggle....

 - Other.....

Personally I have benefited the most out of software programming classes and
applying what I have learned in my job of designing PCBs more
efficiently.....
Having these other job skills can help make you more valuable and marketable
as a designer.

YMMV....
