Hi Ken:
Using a heat gun to soften the soldermask and a soldering iron to scrap it off, we were able to remove very easily and fast the soldermask without damaging the board or copper foil.
Regards,
Ramon

Subject: [TN] Soldermask on PTH pad???
Importance: High
Technetters,
We have pads of hand soldering locations covered with solder mask making it
difficult to solder. Is there any other way to solder besides scarping the
solder mask (abrasive) and use solder fountain? I am looking for any easy
way to remove solder mask or soldering technique.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
