If they are working in an ESD Area put the badges in their pocket. Unless
you need to maintain positive ID all the time this is a no cost solution.
Also, if you are working on ESD parts your badge should not be in an area
on your body that will allow it to come in contact with the item to begin
with. As a common practice I carry my badge in my shirt pocket when I am
on the production floor, otherwise it is on the outside - visible - side
of the pocket.

Do your assy folks wear a smock? If so there should be a pocket on them.
(yea I know, I forgot my badge in my smock)

This is not a hugh amount of help but hope it gives you some ideas.

[TN] Anti-Static identification badges???

Everyone,

I have a silly problem and could use some help coming up with a
solution.

We currently have identification badges that our employees use to get
into the facility (also has their photo for identification). We have
found that they generate a significant amount of ESD.

We have been looking for a way to protect against this (not sure if we
need to or not). The only solution we have come up with is an ESD safe
plastic sleeve to put the ID in. This solution is pretty costly ($1.20
each) as well not very attractive (can hardly see the photo through the
sleeve).

Anyone got any great ideas on how to solve this?

Kevin
