        Charles:
I am assuming that is a THT board. We had a style of a board that if we got 60% barrel fill it was satisfactory. This is what we did. Run the board through the wave. Place board in an oven for 30 min at 200 deg F or higher, what ever you are allowed to. Use big tip solder iron, place tip on the lead instead of the pad, to heat junction, avoid board damage, and solder. If board cools too fast place board on an oven glove or on table top heater. Or you might just be lucky and heat up boards before sent through the wave.

Subject: [TN] Stack caps

We are having a problem getting wetting to the leads of some stack caps.
Mainly on the ground side of the parts. I suspect that it is probably just
the ground planes in the board sinking so much heat but I was wondering if
anybody else has come up with a way to solder these effectively. We use
similar parts on other assemblies without much of a problem but these new
ones are proving to be a challenge (problem).
