Take care for the stresses that occur during the mini PCBs separation, the
ceramic components should be far enough from the V Groove line.

Jump score will allow also a combination of routing - along the
sensitive area - and v-groove for webs to keep the unit in the pallet.
The keep-put area is ~ .300"+ as the blades have a transition as they
jump in and out. Using a v-score web over tabs with perforation holes
is a good pallet design that is easy to work with.

Daan, can you explain jump scoring. I've never heard the term before

Thanks,

Hi Bob,

Have you tried jump-scoring? With this technique you can have thinner
webs, while keeping the stiffness of the panel.

I have been given a v-groove score keep out area dimension of 1mm from
the edge of the groove to the component body; except the dimension
becomes 5mm for ceramic components. 5mm seems like a very large value.
Does anybody have experience with this? Is it really necessary to keep
ceramic components that far from a v-groove score?

Thanks.

Bob
