We must keep 300 MIL (~7.5 mm) from 1206 size or greater non-leaded parts to
any scores unless we have drilled a series of small holes along the score
line so they are starting and ending 400 MIL (~10.1mm) either side of the
part. The holes are the same size as the top of the score. This drops to
150 MIL (~3.3mm) for non-leaded parts less than 1206 size.

Subject: [TN] Subject: V-Groove Keep Out Area

I have been given a v-groove score keep out area dimension of 1mm from the
edge of the groove to the component body; except the dimension becomes 5mm
for ceramic components. 5mm seems like a very large value. Does anybody have
experience with this? Is it really necessary to keep ceramic components that
far from a v-groove score?

Thanks.

Bob
