I am fabricating a PCB that requires selective electro-deposited nickel on
contact pads.
The nickel-plated pads are subsequently mechanically contacted by spring-
loaded "pogo" pins.
The actual fabrication is not an issue; rather, my client has asked a
question I've so-far not been able to answer: What is the wear performance
of nickel?
I'm seeking general relative information on the wear characteristics of
nickel (versus, say, copper or tin/lead solder) instead of the specific
performance in my client's application.
So-far I've reviewed an abundance of information concerning the conformance
of nickel, but not performance as regards wear resistance.
Any and all references/suggestions will be appreciated.
