Greetings everyone!

I am looking for some feedback from those of you that successfully
manufacture assemblies with 0402 chip components. One of my customers
is redesigning an assembly and will be going from 0805 and 0603
components down to 0402 and 0603. What types of challenges and/or
issues should I expect from a process and equipment standpoint when
manufacturing 0402 components? Also, do you institute any special
process verification steps for these components?

Screen Printer - What type of issues do you encounter here? 100%
aperture or reduced?

Chip Shooter - With the correct feeder and nozzles in place, what other
issues should I be aware of?

Reflow - Any tombstoning issues?

I realize these questions are relatively basic, however, I am trying to
get a feel for what type of issues we may encounter.

TIA for your comments and suggestions.

Best regards,

Rich Lasko
