I have never seen it happen with Taiyo mask but have with another Legend ink
especially if processed through ENIG. From our investigation it appears tobe
reacting with the sulfuric acid in the ENIG line - off line testing with
dilute sulfuric acid produces the nice purple color.

Subject: [TN] Purple Solder Mask

Greetings Technetters,
I have a circuit board that specifies Taiyo PSR-4000 white.
Some of the boards have a distinct purple tint to them.

Has anyone seen this phenomenon before?
Do you have any ideas what could cause it?

Thank you in advance.

Tom Burek, CID+
