Oh Yeah, when I was in 6th grade a couple of friends of mine and myself
bought a "Heathkit"  black and white television set kit and put it together
and it really worked.   We would watch tv on our very own TV set.   What do
you think of that.   And I also remember when the first calculators came
out.  And they cost you 200 bucks.   Now you get those types for free when
you buy 8 gallons of gas.

Oh yeah! Well, when I was in 7th grade, I had a Radio Shack Electronics Kit
and by putting wires in coiled springs, I could make a cool radio...or a
super-sensitive eavesdropping device!

Nope! As far as I remember, A.P. Hanson stamped rolled copper sheeting
to provide circuitry, sometime roughly 100 years ago. It wasn't EDCF.
I'll give you a clue; the first PCBs, as we know them today, were made
with rolled copper foil. EDCF was introduced when rolled copper foil was
washed off the substrate by wave soldering. It was initially made as a
by-product of another industrial process.
