tubes."
"Lead as an alloying element in steel containing up to 0.35% by weight,
aluminium up to 0.4% lead by weight and as a copper alloy containing up to
4% lead by weight."
"Lead in high melting type solders (i.e. tin-lead solder alloys containing
more than 85% lead)
"Lead in solders for servers, storage, and storage array systems(exemption
granted until 2010."
"Lead in solders for network infrastructure equipment for switching,

Subject: Re: [TN] Lead Free Exemptions...

Hi all,

I'm aware of these exemptions.
- Spare parts for repair or reuse of equipment that was put on the
market
before 1 July 2006.

I think this sentence is open for interpretation.
- Equipment which is connected with the protection of the essential
interests of the security of Member States, arms, munitions and war
material shall be excluded from this Directive.

Does anyone know if it is true that there will be an update on the
directive before the end of this year?

Hilbrand

Mornin' all you "Technetters"!

I know there's a statement in the WEEE Directive that exempts military
products from having to become lead-free, but are there any others?

I've heard the term "high-rel" products will be exempt as well, but what
exactly does that mean? Medical? Aerospace?

TIA!
