Steve: Go to the RoHS Directive, Article 2, Scope, para 1. This references
the WEEE Directive regarding Annex 1A, categories 8 and 9. Under Annex 1A
category 8 medical devices and category 9 monitoring and control devices are
proposed to be exempt. These are under review and further clarification is
due by Feb 13 2005.

I know there's a statement in the WEEE Directive that exempts military
products from having to become lead-free, but are there any others?

I've heard the term "high-rel" products will be exempt as well, but what
exactly does that mean? Medical? Aerospace?
