Steve,

It is my understanding that there are no WEEE Directive exemptions but that there are RoHS Directive exemptions for Military, high reliability telecommunications infrastructure (switching & transmission) and servers. The problem is that the exemptions are not well defined. If I go to an electronics store and buy a router to connect my desktop and laptop to my cable would that be considered a server?

Regards,
George

Subject: [TN] Lead Free Exemptions...

Mornin' all you "Technetters"!

I know there's a statement in the WEEE Directive that exempts military
products from having to become lead-free, but are there any others?

I've heard the term "high-rel" products will be exempt as well, but what
exactly does that mean? Medical? Aerospace?

TIA!

-Steve Gregory
