Hi UK-Bob Willis, and IPC LF Listservers,

Thanks again for the reviews.

It sounds like you are doing reviews in some cases for the publishers.

So far if I count Puttlitz's book which I see has PaulV from Sandia giving
a chapter, you have reviewed 9 books. Sandia-PaulV pulled together many old
presentations and did SMTA's big CD on Lead Free here last year that I
remember we discussed a bit on this list with Jean-Paul. Puttlitz if I
remember correctly, was the senior engineer focal point at IBM for years on
Lead Free.

Engineering Properties & Applications of Lead Alloys
by Sivaraman Guruswamy, Univ of Utah is another by www.dekker.com

When NIST CarolH and her team come out with a book AND When RIT (Rochester
Institute of Technology) comes out that will make 12 books so far and we
haven't even heard yet from some of the other publishers or electronics
research places that will have to have a book in or out of their stables.
Somehow the Swiss or maybe the UK will also have to publish something. It
would be fun to see GuenterGrossman on Reliability.

Questions
---------

On the Japanese book you wrote 2003 as the English date. Did you really
mean 2005??

I believe I noticed in your write up on the Japanese books that the LF
alloy with Bi wasn't mentioned. Is that correct since I believe in the
Pacific Rim they are using this alloy??

My toss up right now is between CALCE's book and Puttlitz. From a practical
manufacturing application level which one is stronger in that regard or are
they comparable in the implementation phase. I would like to see a good
Wave Soldering section with some of the items discussed on the IPC-LF
Listserve.

Yours in Engineering, Dave
