OK, and how many pounds of 20 dollar bills do I need to spend on equipment to determine if my boards coming out of my closed loop DI batch washer are really clean? And what is that testing process (I'm still stuck in the seventies)?

Subject: Re: [TN] dendrite info needed

Are dendrites electrically conductive?
**Yup.

Can they be formed when a circuit board is submerged in dielectric oil
(Shell Diala AX)?
**Yup.

How do I prevent them?
a) Spray board with Dendrite-B-Gon, available from Concoat
b) never turn on the hardware
c) make sure the ionic contaminant, the source of dendrites, is not
present to start with.

Can I remove them or is the board now scrap?
**Scrap. You can remove one, but they are like cockroaches, if you see one
they are probably elsewhere and how can you be sure you got them all.

And to help educate folks here, where is there a good mini thesis on them?
**Buy the soon to be released novel "Captain Dendrite - The Life Story of
Doug Pauls". Coming to a Barnes and Noble near you.
