Richard,
If you live in a totally lead-free environment with no exposure to any known
or listed hazardous materials,75 degrees F year-round temperature, unlimited
supplies of free Mountain Dew, have a stable product or design that never
changes, have verifiable and secure data sources, control and back annotate
all exports and imports of data sources, maintain configuration control of
all tool sets or platforms, never change suppliers or customers; then there
are two reasons I would go for it.First, given the criteria I have stated,
most PDM software packages would work.Secondly, if you believe you have all
of the above, you are probably delusional and wouldn't know or care if it
worked are not.
If you have no problems with your present system and clearly understand what
you are gaining(speed, scannability, etc.)then it will work.Do not expect it
to fix existing problems, without some level of customizing.
Dewey
