Fellow TechNets,

For hand installation / rework of small components such as 0603 sized, QFN
odd-form type parts, we have been using various hot air type tools. The
operators complain that sometimes they have to hold the parts with tweezers
so that the air does not moves the parts around enough to cause problems.
If they turn the air down far enough to eliminate this problem than not
enough heat is transferred to the part/board to reflow the solder - most of
our boards are double sided with a lot of copper in them.

Would someone please direct me to a source of some type of small, IR type of
hand-held rework tool. Does such a tool exist? Look forward to any help on
this. thanks

joe
