I will get the reviews together and post them for all.
Yes I have investigated the issue of plating breakdown of soldering and
de-soldering tips. All the suppliers do have solutions and controls in
place, but most of the problem is overcome through education just like
with no-clean, turn the irons off when not in use!!!!
Its amazing when you leave the factory in the evening and the whole of
the show floor is illuminated with little green or yellow LED's

One important thing we noticed is that the "long-life soldering tips"

There are three interactive CDs which IPC have available if you contact
David Bergman. He was offering them at the last IPC/JEDEC Lead Free
Conference along with most books on the subject. They are produced by
SOLDERTEC and NPL.

SOLDERTEC Lead Free Hand Soldering and De-soldering
SOLDERTEC Lead Free Reflow Soldering and Defect Guide
Some may know I like reading and reviewing books and there are five
books out there on lead free and two more coming this year. They are
reviewed on two different web sites, but not sold by those web sites. I
know that David Bergman is again providing all the lead free titles, he
again offered them at the Lead Free Conference.
If people want I can post my short reviews, they are not as detailed as
some produced by the Master Brian E on his island in the sun!!!
