Just a note here.  If the hole is not supported, it's defect, be careful
with that.

Also, note 2 on page 5-16 points out:  "For plated-throuh hole boards
greater than
2.3mm thick, components with pre-establish lead lenghts, (DIPs, Sockets),
lead protrusion
may not be discernible."

Personnally, in such a case I would also make sure that soldering on primary
side meets
270deg wetting on lead.

TechNetters:

I have a question on lead protrusion.  We have ordered in components that
does not come through the PCB like it states in IPC-A-610C, 5.2.7.1,
figure 5-34.  It is more along the L Min in the figure 5-34.  Is this
acceptable for Class 2 manufacturing?  I told my supervisor this is a
process indicator and should be corrected but he wants some more input and
so do I before we give the go ahead. Anxiously waiting.
