Steve,
In the good old days of the industry, just 2 or 3 years ago, there was a flourish of a pretty interesting discipline, very popular in the R&D arena, known as Knowledge Management. Apart of tools, data bases and a lot of other garbage, there were some basic concepts that can, and should, easily adapted. The root idea is that people, if stuck to their conceptual task and doing only this, will become highly professional flock of cattle, that its effectiveness will reduce with time. Hence, the breaks got evolving importance. During the break the mind is cleared, the coffee is drunk with some other people, and, surprise-surprise - the effectivity was not harmed.

Hence, breaks of the work for good mood comments, as well as dealing not technical issues (like the BBQ foil, or the safety of the porcelain mugs) is strongly welcomed.

Subject: [TN] Your Opinion Please....

I received an email that disturbed me...and I want to understand if what I
try to do, and the inputs that I give, is something that helps everyone. I won't
share who it was that sent me this, but I honestly want to know if anyone
shares this same view. This was in response to my reply to JaMi about the
difficulty he was having accessing my web page...

"He's mad at you Steve because you're an idiot that wastes the TechNet's
valuable time and resources on your personal ramblings. And I'll say it
once again, you've got far too much time on your hands and you're cheating
your employer.......it's called time theft."

If anyone thinks that my inputs takes time away from what I am paid to do, I
want to put that to rest. What I do for my employer is my life...my job is my
life, and I do what I have to do. I am commited to doing my absolute best.

Maybe I'm taking this criticism from a Technetter too seriously, but I'm
human...

Kind regards,

-Steve Gregory-
