Good afternoon,

Can someone please help me with clarification of IPC-A-610 Section 6.9. 1)
If solder wicks up the pin more than 2.5 mm. but the pin is non-functional -
i.e. this is a female thru-hole connector so the mating connector goes on
the component side and the pins stick thru on the solder side, why is this
an issue. The problem we are having is the pins are on very tight centers -
stick thru the part over an inch and we have to hand solder. Thanks in
