Hi All!

I just posted a paper by David Douthit called "Avionics Systems, Reliability,
and Harsh Environments" on my page. Go to http://www.stevzeva.homestead.com
and look at "OtherDavesPaper.pdf". Thanks Dave for sending that!

I've also posted some pictures of me pulling a connector from that backplane
I've been talking about...the connectors came out like "buddah". Used a pair
of tweezers to pull it out, that's how easy it was.

The backplane doesn't look too intimidating in the picture, but it's
12-layers of 1-ounce copper that's .135" thick. It weighs almost 5-lbs. I know there
are bigger and thicker boards out there, and I think the ZT-6 is just the tool
you need.

The first picture "ZT-6" is of the unit. If the rack in the picture used to
support the assembly during rework looks like a frame for hanging files in a
file cabinet drawer, that's because that's what it is. Zephrytronics sells a
board support, but I didn't get one yet with that unit, so I needed something
just to get by until I get something better.

The next picture is of me monitoring the connector and board temperature with
a non-contact IR thermometer.

The next picture is of me testing the connector for complete reflow of the
solder on all the pins, and then the final picture is of me with a goofy smile
on my face with the connector out.

Like I said; "I give the ZT-6 a big thumbs up!"

-Steve Gregory-

P.S. Bandwidth on my page is probably gonna max out today, just try again
tomorrow...or, if you want me to send anything that was posted today directly to
you just let me know.
