We are mounting 0201 with the MyDatas. We are using Fine Pitch Feeders with a special 0201 tip.

Printing: We've been able to use either type 3 or type 4 with .005" or .006" stencils. Depending on the aperture size, paste type, and stencil thickness, beware of clogged apertures as well as excess paste (which shows up as excessive wetting angles.). The only combination of stencil thickness and aperture is .006" with 1 to 1 apertures. We've had the best results using .005" or .006" with apertures opened up 1 mil around. You'll have to play around to see what works best for you with your paste, printers, and designs.

Reflow: We're using OA paste (nice big process window). We found best results with Type 3 paste and a short preheat. A long preheat will dry what little flux you've printed for those tiny little pads. Type 4 will tend to oxidize if you don't have Nitrogen or a short preheat. Profile requirements will depend on the rest of the board design.

Subject: [TN] 0201 component

Hi All,

Does any of you want to share your experience of processing 0201 component with Fuji CP-65 or MyData MY19? How about reflow profile? Any defect you see and how to correct them. Our customers start to design
boards with 0201 components. And we will run it pretty soon. Any comment will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Wei Wang
