With regard to Michael Forester's question, my experience has shown that
situations like this are almost always people related as opposed to an inherent
equipment problem. I have worked with applications in which the panelized
assemblies were oriented 180 degrees from each other and the GSMs had no trouble
placing BGAs and fine-pitch components. The GSM is one of the most accurate and
repeatable placement machines on the market and I would expect no less from
one.

Usually, when this type of issue comes up, it turns out to be related o the
customer's program ( fiducial, or offset, or placement data is inaccurate.)
If the placement offset is on mainly the 180 circuits, that would mean the 0
degree circuits are placed accurately. This would indicate that this is not a
machine issue as all placements would suffer.

Michael, don't listen to the naysayers. Go ahead with your program. And if
in doubt, give UIC a call. They also have an excellent repuation for customer
support.
