Ah, but Charles, I was very careful when I chose my gas example.  Although helium is known to superconduct at low temperature, I have found not literature references to indicate Krypton does.  If you find any, let me know.

Actually if I remember correctly many gasses do have metallic properties at
near absolute zero. Although some need to be compressed to do so.

Yes, I think you would be hard pressed to convince ANYONE, for example, that
krypton at even absolute zero has metallic properties!
