I can verify that keyboard functionality can be restored after a coffee
accident using "domestic stuff". Being unaware of the Apple advise
I actually flushed first with warm solution of liquid Flash solution
(low foam low residue household detergent),
Rinsed under warm tap.
then final rinse using "DI" water from one of those jug things,
I dried using "DI" diluted surgical spirit (US speak: rubbing alcohol)
which is actually just iso-propanol and hot air blow from hair dryer.
Keyboard has worked well for 4 years since then with no problems

Caution this procedure does not remove paper clips, large biscuit crumbs
and some thing which I can't identify but is probably Green and Blacks
plain chocolate.

:)

Regards

Mike

Which would be enough to make me lose all confidence in Apple Mac.
Dishwashers have water softeners which exchange calcium ions in youe
water with sodium ions. I, for one, would not wish to know that there
were trace quantities of hygroscopic and strongly ionic sodium
carbonate, sodium sulfate etc. on ANY electronics assembly.
