If your operator is allergic to nickel, how about having it gold plated for
her? There are several suppliers of equipment that selectively plates gold
for card edge fingers. Perhaps your pcb supplier can help you out as well.
Be sure to clean the solution off thoroughly, though... it contains several
nasties, including (but not limited to) cyanide!
