OK, the recent bbq sauce question got me thinking of another thing I've been
wondering about lately for all the chemists out there to help me with.

Is there a chemical reason why yogurt and cottage cheese and sour cream
containers are all #5 plastic?
Could the producers use #1 HDPE or #2 PETE instead?
