Actually we are, not to get very gross but the mucus lining our esophogus
and stomach walls are highly resistant to corosion...keep in mind stomach
acids with a pH of <=2 are pooled there and constantly replinished (some
people experience this more than others resulting in GERD and the like) so
all the wonderful stuff we eat can be sufficiently dissolved and digested...

While vinegar and acids in tomatoes can certainly disolve the foil, did your
wife add something "extra" to the sauce perhaps??? something for a more
sinister reason than...taste?  (grinning, just joking now)
