Recently I pulled some PCB's off the shelf and a number of the boards are
showing signs of contamination (two years old). The contamination resembles
that of another PCB manufactured by different assembly house (four years
ago), the only link to both PCB's is that they both had to be reworked. The
first PCB contamination problem was linked back to not removing the flux
after rework, over 800 assemblies had to be sent back for rework and
cleaning. I would like to draw up a document that would go to all of our
contract manufactures that are handling assemblies helping to protect my
company and there reputation, while also helping the assembly house keep the
expenses of reworking an PCB's down. I was hoping that someone may have a
doc out there that I can get some ideas from, or suggestions on what the
best approach would be. I find it hard to believe that this has happened
twice with two different plants that are hundreds of miles apart.

Regards,

Ted Tontis
