Will someone die if your product fails? If 'yes' or 'maybe', then take care;
it would be a very cavalier approach to simply take someone's word for it.

As a manufacturer of conformal coatings, the issue to be addressed is
whether the materials have electro-chemical compatibility.

All fluxes leave residues, and in what form and by how much maybe needs
careful investigation.

There are new techniques out there that are designed to help you find out,
and this will be a subject being reviewed at the next IPC meeting in
Anaheim.
