Thanks Peter.

Must be just the brash analysts that think that reason still has a chance in
the game.

Based on your and Brian's comments, like me, they may well need to temper
their expectations.

Upon reflection, I suppose that intelligence has never been a criteria for
getting into elected office. (We certainly see alot of "form over substance" on
this side of the pond)

However, "face above facts" and intransigence in the face of scientific data
(or lack thereof), does seem more than a little silly and demeaning to the
high offices they hold... But then again, I am just a simple, common person and
certainly incapable of understanding the deep complexities of legislative
matters.
