Hi Folks

I was talking to a tape and reel manufacture. They mentioned to me that it
is very critical how you open a package so you do not incur electrostatic
discharges. They stated that if you pull out the atmosphere and add
desiccant you are creating a dry environment that will lead to ESD damage
on your components if you do not open the package properly. He stated that
you have to open up the bag in an ionized environment and let it
environment normalize before you pull out the reel.

Can someone lead me to a specification that describes the proper process to
open reels in packages.

Thank you

Karen Walters
