As I just said to Paul, I am not sure you can make a distinction between a chemical reaction and a physical change.  I will need more convincing than a statement from one, who like me, claims that "physical chemistry is not...my strong point".  :)

Bev,

With Physical Chemistry not being my strong point, I believe this would be
zero.  This is based on sublimation being a change in physical nature not a
chemical reaction.

Technetters,
It has been almost 30 years since I took kinetics.  I have dug out my old
text books, but they only help so much. I'm a preparative inorganic chemist
by training. My question is the following:  If a single compound sublimes,
without decomposition, would you expect the kinetics to be zero or first
order?  Thanks.
