You might try some type impedance, or resistance testing but this may only
muddle the stew more...if you've got that condition present, my thoughts are
suspect the entire lot and handle appropriately.

You could I suppose apply enough current (typical os use plus some) to the
circuit and see what happens, but then you may only induce the failure
(then, or a short period later, while in use again).

I'd say, take a big breath, gulp the Mylanta...recall the units (within that
specific lot)...and replace them...
