On this page, the vendor states press-fit connectors in general can be put
on after parylene coating. I presume this is because a parylene coating is
so thin the edges of the compliant pins will "bite" right through and make
contact with the hole barrel with no ill effect on reliability. So,
"Parylene Piercing Press-fit Connectors" was probably used in a generic
sense, or some marketer has invented a buzz word for his connectors that
really applies to all press-fit connectors in general. I don't know if any
reliability studies have been done on this specifically.
