Ken,

The company is actually called Derby (http://www.derby.com), but
they pronounce it Darby. They were a spin-off from HP before it became
Agilent. John Knox is in Sales at Derby covering the Eastern US. The company
headquarters is in Colorado.
Many HP, and now Agilent testers (HP3070, etc) can produce a log
file in what is called DCF (data collection Format). The Derby software
Qstats II SQC (Statistical Quality Control) reads that format and stores the
data in an Oracle database. You can get your yield and pareto reports from
SQC.
Another tool from Derby is called ReX, which is a paper-less
graphical repair tool. When ICT can indict a component, that information is
passed to ReX and at repair, the repair operator sees a graphics file, with
the failed component highlighted in red. The operator "touches" this
component and records the associated repair action for that particular
failure. In this manner, you don't allow free-form text entry of repair
data. The Repair data is also stored in SQC.
The system used the concept of a process step and a board can only
leave the process step if it passes. If there is a failure, you must repair
and retest the board.
The software runs on Unix and is robust. There is a Windows based
solution as well.
At Bose, we have a sophisticated Derby installation, across multiple
facilities and have extended the architecture in several areas. If you need
any more information, please let me know.

Regards,
Chris

are collecting functional and system test data, what software are they
using? Any help will be highly appreciated.
