Shiela/Alcon:
- Easiest and best way to deal with the lower magnification powers on a
stereozoom microscope is to get a 0.5X objective adapter lens. Snapping it onto the
lens at the bottom of the optical head will not only reduce magnification
power by one-half, but will double the vertical working distance available
beneath the lens. An alternative solution would be to replace the (drop in)
eyepieces (which are customarily 10X) with lenses that are 5X.
- If the microscope manufacturer cannot supply the necessary lenses see
Fisher Scientific catalog of microscopes and accessories.
- For additional information on the calibration of microscopes and
qualification of inspection personnel see IPC-OI-645.
