Don't know of any standard addressing this issue, but we allow walkman-type
devices as long as they remain on the person and must be contained under
their ESD gown. I think the only ESD issue would be static generated by the
plastic body of the device.

Subject: [TN] TN Walkman Radios on the Assembly line
        Importance: High

Can anyone out there tell me if there is a standard concerning
Walkmans
and headsets on the electronic assembly lines? I'm wondering if
there is
interference with possible damage to components from these radios.
Until
recently the stuffing line employees were allowed to have them as
well as
other assemblers. Is there an ESD standard or something? Anything
would
        be helpful.

        Thanks
