It seems I did not read the post fully and one of my illustrious colleagues
pointed that out to me off-line.

I also did not like the way the Mantis worked, but I purchased the 6X long
working distance lens and it allowed them to bring the Mantis up to a good
distance away from the board so they could get their probes, tweezers, and
hands under the lens. Of course, the lens costed more than other lenses. I,
personally, did not want to integrate a monitor-type system that could
further confuse my operators by working in one location, but looking in
another.
