Linda,

Here is another issue to consider. Are these leads formed, clinched,
toward
external conductors/pads. If so, they are not permitted to violate the PCB
minimum
spacing guidelines vertically and/or horizontally. Good luck.

Victor,

Linda, we use something that looks like a bent up "shrimp fork". The flat
measuring end is .030" thick and the handle is about 1 1/2" long. The
measuring end has a notch that can be placed over the lead and the wire can
be cut to nearly .030". Kind of looks like a lazy "L". \_ Works for us! Hope
this helps.

Technetters,

What type of measuring device do you use to check proper lead length? We
need something to measure .030 on production line. We are currently using 6
inch. Metal ruler but need something a little more accurate.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Linda
