        We machined some small tools out of delmat that are shaped like
a carpenter's pencil. At one end there are two small posts protruding
out that are .060 in diameter x .040 long (our lead length spec). The
two posts are spaced .300 apart for stability and clearance, we just
slide the tool lightly across the board to check any leads in question.
You will need to verify the tools on a regular basis for wear, and can
serialize them for tracking purposes. HTH....

Technetters,

What type of measuring device do you use to check proper lead length? We
need something to measure .030 on production line. We are currently
using 6 inch. Metal ruler but need something a little more accurate.
